On July 11, 2025, within the framework of the grant project “Promotion of Successful Practices Against Domestic Violence,” implemented by the Public Union for Support of Social-Economic Development \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology\u201d with financial support from the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the second event was held at the “Youth House” in Sumgait city.The event began with a one-minute silence in memory of our martyrs, followed by the playing of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.Saida Musayeva, Chairperson of the Public Union for Support of Social-Economic Development \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology\u201d and project manager, opened the event by providing detailed information about domestic violence, especially violence against women and children, emphasizing that such acts seriously hinder the social security and healthy development of society. She noted that a total of five events are planned within the project framework.The next event will be organized in the Lokbatan settlement of the Karadag district of Baku city. The fourth event will take place in Khirdalan city, and the final, fifth event will be held in the Khazar district of Baku city.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Jamala Nakhchivani, Vice-Chairperson of the Public Union for Support of Social-Economic Development \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology\u201d and the event host, emphasized that keeping this topic constantly on the agenda is a clear example of our state’s high attention and humanitarian policy towards the issue. She presented to the participants the presentation prepared within the framework of the project.Following this, the project expert, lawyer-psychologist Natig Babayev, shared information with the participants about ways to combat domestic violence, legal mechanisms, psychological support services, and successful local and international practices in this field.In his speech, Natig Babayev particularly highlighted the development of women, their active participation in social life, and their economic and social empowerment. At the end, he also answered numerous questions from the participants.<\/p>\n

While concluding the event, Saida Musayeva, Chairperson of the Public Union for Support of Social-Economic Development \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology\u201d and Project Manager, once again emphasized that the main essence of the project topic \u2014 \u201cdomestic violence\u201d \u2014 is a highly relevant issue not only in our country but also worldwide. Keeping this topic in the spotlight today reflects the special attention our state pays to this matter.She stated that as a representative of civil society, the Public Union paid close attention to this direction of the grant competition announced by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan because one of the key areas of activity of the Public Union for Support of Social-Economic Development \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology\u201d is precisely the development and protection of women and children, as well as the promotion of innovative thinking.<\/p>\n

For many years, the Public Union has been actively implementing various social projects, contributing to the development of civil society, public awareness, and the strengthening of psychological well-being. The main goal of the project is to promote successful models aimed at preventing domestic violence, to raise public awareness on the issue, and to support the creation of a safer and healthier social environment by empowering the role of women.The Public Union for Support of Social-Economic Development \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology\u201d expresses its deep gratitude to the members of the Supervisory Board of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to Executive Director Mrs. Aygun Aliyeva, as well as to all the staff of the Secretariat, for appreciating the initiative at a high level, awarding it among the winners, and supporting the project.During the event, an art exhibition featuring handmade works by the children of the Public Union\u2019s members was held, followed by a tea break.<\/p>\n
