On August 11, 2025, with the financial support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the next \u2014 fourth \u2014 event of the grant project \u201cPromoting Successful Practices Against Domestic Violence,\u201d implemented by the Public Union for Support of Socio-Economic Development \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology,\u201d was held at the \u201cYouth House\u201d in the Mardakan settlement of Khazar District.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of the project, events have been held in Yasamal, Garadagh, and Khazar districts of Baku, as well as in the city of Sumgayit.<\/p>\n

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, followed by the performance of the State Anthem.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Opening the event with a welcome speech, the Chairperson of the Public Union for Support of Socio-Economic Development \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology\u201d and project leader, Saida Musayeva, spoke about the harmful consequences of domestic violence in society, especially against women and children, emphasizing that this problem poses a serious threat to social security and healthy development. She noted that a total of five events were planned within the framework of the project, with the next one scheduled to take place in the city of Khirdalan.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Chairperson of the Union and host of the event, Jamala Nakhchivani, emphasized in her speech that this issue is consistently kept in the spotlight at the state level in our country and that the state\u2019s humanistic policy is reflected in the activities of civil society. She also presented the participants with a presentation prepared as part of the project.<\/p>\n

Among the participants, the active involvement of young people was particularly noteworthy; they took part in discussions, shared their views on the topic, and brought a dynamic spirit to the event.<\/p>\n

The project\u2019s expert, lawyer-psychologist Natig Babayev, provided detailed information on the legal mechanisms for combating domestic violence, psychological support services, and both local and international successful practices. Addressing the active participation of women in public life and their economic and social empowerment, the expert also answered numerous questions from the participants.<\/p>\n

In her closing remarks, project leader Saida Musayeva once again stressed that domestic violence is a relevant and serious problem not only for Azerbaijan but for all countries worldwide. She emphasized that keeping this issue on the public agenda, raising awareness among the general public, and introducing successful models for preventing violence are the main goals of the project. She noted that one of the primary objectives of the Union in implementing this project is the protection and development of women and children, as well as the promotion of innovative approaches.<\/p>\n

In her speech, Saida Musayeva also highlighted the importance they attach to the grant competition announced by the Agency in this field and expressed her gratitude to the members of the Supervisory Board of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Executive Director Aygun Aliyeva, and the Secretariat staff for supporting the initiative of the Public Union \u201cInnovative Progress and Ecology\u201d and including the project among the winners.<\/p>\n
