COP29

Today (November 11, 2024), the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) begins in Baku. The chairperson of the Public Union “Innovative Progress and Support for Ecological and Socio-Economic Development,” Saida Musayeva, and the deputy chairperson, Jamala Nakhchivani, are also participating in this significant event.

Hosting COP29 in Azerbaijan is a major step toward accelerating climate change solutions, drawing attention to local and global environmental issues, and creating a livable world for future generations. The conference covers priority topics such as ecosystem protection, carbon emission reduction, and the development of a green economy, providing a platform for countries to seek common solutions.

At the event, speeches, recommendations, and programs were delivered by ADA University Vice-Rector and Member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Fariz Ismayilov; Executive Director of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Aygun Aliyeva; Chairman of the Board of the National NGO Forum, Ramil Iskandarli; and the head of the “EcoSfera” Social-Ecological Center Public Union, Firuza Sultan-zade.

Following the event, participants engaged in discussions on opportunities for cooperation between organizations and the preparation of joint projects.

It should be noted that the event will continue at the Baku Stadium until November 22, 2024.
