At the event “Obesity, Overweight, Education Against Unhealthy Eating”
On October 5, 2024, Saida Musayeva, the Chairperson of the Public Union “Innovative Progress and Support for Socio-Economic Development and Ecology,” participated in the event titled “Awareness Raising Against Obesity, Overweight, and Unhealthy Nutrition,” organized by the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum.
At the event, Dr. Tariel Omarov, a laparoscopic bariatric-metabolic surgeon, general surgeon, President of the Azerbaijan Bariatric-Metabolic Surgeons Association, and a renowned scientist and practitioner, delivered a speech on the scientific advancements in this field, successful experiences, and the impact of obesity and unhealthy nutrition on human health. His speech was met with great interest by the participants and was educational in nature.
It was particularly emphasized that shaping a healthy nutrition culture in the younger generation, increasing social awareness campaigns, and the important role of NGOs in this area are crucial.
The event was not only an opportunity to share scientific knowledge but also a successful initiative in establishing valuable connections among civil society representatives, NGO leaders, and experts in the field.
It is a great source of pride that Azerbaijan has such professional doctors and scientists making significant contributions to the medical field.
